Clinical Trials

Pinehurst Medical Clinic is committed to your comprehensive care.  Since 1997 we have been part of several national clinical trials programs (see our current list below), providing our patients the option of care with some of the newest medical treatments.

Many people think of clinical trials as treatments only for serious or life threatening diseases or disorders. Whilte this is correct, they are also an avenue for scientific breakthrough in any disease, disorder or even a new testing procedure.  For example, clinical trials (also called research studies) can be a way to:

  • determine whether new drugs or treatments are safe and effective
  • find better ways to give a currently available treatment
  • diagnosis a disease sooner
  • prevent a disease or side effect of treatment, or
  • study how treatments affect your life

A clinical trial may be an option of care your doctor can offer but participation is always up to you.  Pinehurst Medical Clinic adheres to the national and international standards of research conduct known as “Good Clinical Practice”.
