I see a PMC Internist as my Primary Care Physician. What happens if I need to go into the hospital?
If you need to be admitted to Moore Regional Hospital, your admission will in most cases be handled by a PMC hospitalist. However, in some cases, you may be admitted by one of our Internists.
During the course of your stay in Moore Regional Hospital, a PMC hospitalist will work with your Internist in providing your medical care. In most cases, your Internist will continue to see you in the hospital as needed.
The PMC hospitalists will also work with any specialists who may be involved with your medical care.

What if I am seeing a PMC specialist but my primary care physician is outside of PMC?
If you are being admitted to Moore Regional Hospital, a PMC hospitalist may still be involved in your admission as well as in assisting your regular physician with your hospital care. This will depend on the type of care you need.
What happens after I am released from Moore Regional Hospital?
You will continue to receive any follow up care from your regular Pinehurst Medical Clinic Internist or specialist. The PMC hospitalists provide care in the hospital setting only.
