Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) is proud to welcome Diana Lech, MD, to its leading gastroenterology team. Lech's addition strengthens the practice's ability to meet the growing local demand for digestive health services.

Lech brings over seven years of clinical experience and a deep commitment to patient-centered care. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in Hempstead, NY, where she also completed a three-year internal medicine residency, served an additional year as a Chief Internal Medicine resident, and was named the Chief Fellow in her gastroenterology fellowship program.

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Lech to the team,” said Dr. Thomas Swantkowski. “Her expertise in inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer screening, and advanced endoscopy will add to our groups clinical expertise and help us reduce wait times and expand access to critical gastroenterology care.”

Lech is driven by a natural talent for problem-solving and a strong desire to help others. She shares, “I find it incredibly rewarding to improve my patients’ health and enhance their overall quality of life.” Her care philosophy focuses on delivering compassionate, patient-centered treatment that combines the latest medical knowledge with her patients’ individual health goals. This approach ensures that her patients feel heard, supported, and actively involved in their care. She is experienced in treating a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions and is especially passionate about colorectal cancer prevention.

Lech chose to continue her career at Pinehurst Medical Clinic for its welcoming environment, which she experienced even before her first day. She was also drawn to PMC's strong reputation for delivering high-quality, collaborative care, values that align closely with her own.

Outside of her medical career, Lech enjoys a variety of outdoor activities. These include horseback riding, skiing, and spending time at the beach. She has a passion for live music and enjoys reading nonfiction. Having recently moved to the Sandhills, she looks forward to exploring the community and improving her golf skills.

PMC’s Gastroenterology Department includes three locations in Pinehurst, Sanford, and Pittsboro, with 10 board-certified gastroenterologists and 12 advanced practice providers. Dr. Lech will care for patients at 15 Regional Drive, Pinehurst, NC.
