Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) is pleased to welcome Mackenzie Hurst, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, to the Walk-In Clinic team at PMC – Greenway Court.
Hurst earned both her Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration, as well as her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of West Florida, Ferry Pass, FL.
Her inspiration to pursue a career in healthcare came from her father, who served as a compassionate and dedicated physician assistant in Florida for more than 30 years. Watching the meaningful relationships, he built with patients and the genuine passion he had for practicing medicine inspired her from a young age. Seeing the positive impact, he made in people’s lives motivated her to follow a similar path. Throughout her journey, her family remained her biggest supporters, encouraging her to pursue and achieve her dream.
Growing up around healthcare helped shape Hurst’s patient-centered philosophy of care, which is rooted in compassion, empathy, and building meaningful relationships. “I strive to create an environment where patients feel heard, valued, and genuinely cared for,” said Hurst. “Ultimately, I want my patients to feel comfortable returning to me and to know that I am invested in improving their health and quality of life.”
From the beginning, Hurst admired PMC’s commitment to putting patients first while fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for its staff. She appreciates the organization’s dedication to delivering high-quality, compassionate care throughout the communities it serves and looks forward to building lasting relationships with her patients while contributing to PMC’s mission.
Outside of work, Hurst enjoys playing the piano, crocheting, and spending time with her husband, two daughters, and their two long-haired dachshunds, Moose and Badger. As part of a military family, she has embraced the adventures and opportunities that come with each new chapter. Her faith is also a big component of her life, and she is passionate about being involved in her church community. She is very excited to begin this next season of life in the Sandhills.
PMC’s Walk-In Clinic locations are located at 1413 Greenway Court, Sanford, NC and 200 Pavilion Way, Southern Pines, NC, and are available to established PMC patients.
