Primary care includes health promotion, disease prevention, health maintenance, counseling, patient education, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. Providers encourage patients to have an active role in their health care and advocate for trusting patient-provider relationships and communication. Primary care providers often collaborate with other health professionals and utilize consultation or referral as appropriate.

When indicated, our primary care providers also collaborate and coordinate referrals to experienced, board-certified physicians in all Pinehurst Medical Clinic subspecialties, including cardiology, dermatology, gastroenterology, hematology, oncology, pulmonary, rheumatology, and sleep medicine.

Family Medicine providers are prepared and trained to offer care to your entire family – children and adults.
Internal Medicine providers care for adult patients, usually age 18 and older. Some specialize in care for older adults or Geriatric Medicine.
