Alex Bonnecaze, MD

Biography

Alex Bonnecaze, MD, is a board-certified endocrinologist specializing in treating metabolic disorders and providing medical management for patients with obesity. Working closely with PMC's Wellness Department, Dr. Bonnecaze offers a unique alternative for patients wanting a non-surgical solution for weight loss. Dr. Bonnecaze is also one of three physicians associated with the Metabolic & Weight Management Center, a collaboration between PMC, FirstHealth, and Pinehurst Surgical Clinic, where he leads the medical weight management program.

In addition to being a board-certified endocrinology physician, Dr. Bonnecaze is also a board-certified obesity medicine physician through the American Board of Obesity Medicine(ABOM). Physicians who are certified by the ABOM have obtained the highest standard of certification in the practice of obesity medicine and obesity care. ABOM-certified physicians are designated Diplomates of the ABOM, and are specifically trained to evaluate, treat, and advocate for patients with the chronic disease of obesity and obesity-related conditions using evidence-based approaches with a focus on:
