Biography
Matthew Fisher, MD is an experienced primary care physician who received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, PA, complemented by completing a family medicine practice residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center at St. Margaret. He then completed a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. He received his undergraduate degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA.
Dr. Fisher chose a career in primary care to have the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients, allowing him to provide consistent support. He enjoys educating patients to help them make informed decisions and finds guiding individuals and families in their health journeys rewarding. His care philosophy emphasizes partnership, trust, and empowerment, believing that the best outcomes come from shared decision-making. He states, “My overall goal is to encourage healthy habits, conduct thorough evaluations, and offer treatments that align with each patient’s values and goals.”
Dr. Fisher, originally from Pittsburgh, is excited about making Pinehurst his new home with his wife and four children. Outside of work, he plans to watch his daughters play college basketball and spend time with his wife and younger son. He enjoys traveling and values quality family moments.
