Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) is proud to announce the addition Aemonn Barnes, NP, to the esteemed cardiology team at PMC-East, in Pinehurst. Barnes has over 25 years of clinical experience and will be working under the direction of Steven Kent, MD, FACC.
Barnes earned his Master of Science in Nursing degree with a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration from the University of South Alabama, Mobile, AL. He also holds a Master of Science in Nursing degree with Healthcare Administration and Leadership concentration from Duke University, Durham, NC. Additionally, he received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Greensboro, NC and his associate’s degree in nursing locally from Sandhills Community College, Pinehurst, NC.
Guided by a deep commitment to patient care, Barnes has continually sought opportunities to grow and make a meaningful impact in healthcare. After years of working night shifts in the emergency department, he chose to transition into cardiology, an area that allows him to build lasting relationships with patients and focus on long-term heart health. He combines evidence-based practice with a belief in the importance of spiritual healing, providing comprehensive and compassionate care to those he serves.
Barnes shared that joining PMC has given him the opportunity to pursue this passion in a supportive and collaborative environment. He was drawn to PMC’s strong reputation for delivering compassionate, high-quality care and the camaraderie among its providers. He looks forward to contributing to the continued success of the cardiology team and caring for patients in the community he calls home.
A Moore County native, Barnes currently resides in Aberdeen with his wife and three children. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, hiking, running, and spending time in nature with his family.
